A few nerves at the start of the day when we saw the five game fixture list but after a typical slow start to a tournament, resulting in a 2-0 defeat to the hosts, we got up and running.

It turned out to be a great run out against some of the new teams we will be facing this coming season. Following a League restructure which meant the top part of North Division 2 North West where we finished 4th, will be in North Division 2 West. The bottom half will form North Division 3 North West with newly promoted teams from the County Leagues (don't ask!)

A very warm and sunny day at times, the spray from the water cannons was welcome when they were put on briefly.

A great day though with chilled team bants and picnics between games. Also good to see former Red, Lily Helme, who is now based in Manchester and plays for Bowden 2s... but sneaks back for the odd indoor session when visiting Mum & Dad up the road.
