This evening (16 March), the Government advised the UK population to avoid all non essential contact. England Hockey immediately followed this up with the following statement.

England Hockey, Monday 16 March, 18:30
In light of the ongoing effects of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and government advice, England Hockey has taken the decision to suspend its nationally run hockey activity.

This includes our competition and domestic events programme, Player Pathway activity and national youth programmes until at least 15 April. We have already issued an update with regards to our AGM on 17 March.

We would urge leagues, clubs, schools, Player Pathway centres and others who deliver hockey on a local level to support this approach.

This decision will impact activities at differing levels and scale. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully and react as best we can during these unprecedented times. We'll keep everyone in the hockey family as up to date as possible and look forward to hockey returning to normal when the time is right.

As a Club, we will therefore be following this advice and will suspend all activities, with immediate effect, until further notice.

This affects Junior training on Sundays (including Hockey Heroes, which we will honour at a later date) and our End of Season Presentation Night on Saturday 4 April which we will postpone until a later date and provide an update in due course.

We are anticipating this will also affect the Caley Trophy Final on Saturday 28 March which our 2nd team are involved in. We await confirmation from the League and again, will provide an update as soon as we can.

We are in unchartered territory. As a Club, we care for all our Hockey Family and ask that you follow all the advice and take the necessary precautions.

UPDATE - 17 March 2020
As expected, the Caley Trophy Final on 28 March has now been postponed.
The Lancashire Central Women's Hockey League announced this today along with a postponement of the End of Season League Presentation and their AGM.
