A review of 2018-19

Here's a quick round up of our 60th season, one which kicked off rather aptly with our 60th Anniversary dinner and the opening of the new astro turf pitch at a rain drenched Garstang Academy by Double Olympic GB Hockey medallist, Hannah MacLeod.

Was really pleasing to see almost all players move home to Garstang with us last season in this exciting new phase but to also see players settle in to new teams and and teams develop over the season.

As well as continuing with our four senior ladies teams and our thriving junior section, we also reintroduced hockey back to our town encouraging potential new members to give hockey a go and join us. Our Back2Hockey/New2Hockey (for those who are new to the game or just want to play socially without any Saturday commitment) saw a Mum encourage her family to join with Dad joining the new mens section (who will enter the league this September) having never picked up a stick and daughter starting with the juniors.

You'll see hockey is just as much about socialising off the pitch as it is about playing with team mates on it. Whether it's a quick drink and bite to eat after matches or coming together at social events, we encourage players to mix with their team and across the Club as it fosters a good team and Club spirit.

If you fancy joining us? Then check out the document below for a quick guide. Training starts in August and we have a Hockeyfest (Club Day) event for all in September. Our Mixed Junior sessions on Sunday's run through the Summer.
